About the country

Uzbekistan is a very moderated muslim country with a soviet history. Sights are breathtaking, and the cities are kept quite clean. Most of the cultural herigates are near to each other (max 4 or 5 hours travelling by bus or train). Domestic flights are cheap and quite good.

Accomodation

There is plenty of accomodation in the country. In each hotel you should ask for a 'registration note'. You need those notes when leaving the country. Sometimes they are being asked, sometimes you don't need them at all. Anyhow, they won't look at them in detail, so you can miss a few days (if you want to stay with a private family or in a cheaper hotel that doesn't give registration). In Tashkent, many hotels changed their phonenumber (in 2009). The phonenumbers on this website are verified in 04/2009.

Transportation

If you take a flight between Tashkent and Urgensh, you'll be flying with a new Boeing. If you fly between Nukus and Tashkent, you'll be flying with an Illyushin or Yakolev.
